Sariya stands on a constructed headland reaching west into the Red Sea from Yanbu al-Bahr, on the Kingdom's western coast.
Yanbu al-Bahr — Yanbu 'of the sea' — is one of Saudi Arabia's principal Red Sea ports, in the Al Madinah province. The hotel sits apart from it, out on the water, connected by a single approach and screened by its own gardens.
The property is arranged in a shallow arc: guest floors along the landward edge in low terracotta blocks, then lawns and mature date palms, then the pool running the full width of the site, then the beach. Nothing on the seaward side rises above the palm line.
A stone breakwater extends from the northern flank and folds the sea into a sheltered channel, with a lagoon on the inner side. From the air the whole arrangement reads as an island. From a lounger, it reads as quiet.
